DSL connection (copper)

You need to set the DHCP Option 60 for the WAN interface to 100008,0001 in the router configuration menu.

Supported DSL technologies

Depending on the specific network expansion situation, the Swisscom network supports the following DSL technologies:

  • G.fast to ITU standard G.9700, G.9701 and G.997.2
  • VDSL2 Vectoring to ITU standard G.993.5 and G.997.1
  • ADSL2+ to ITU standard G.992.5

Fibre optic connection (FTTH)

You need to set the DHCP Option 60 for the WAN interface to 100008,0001 in the router configuration menu. You also need to set the VLAN ID to VLAN ID 10.

Supported fibre-optic technologies

Depending on the specific network expansion situation, the Swisscom network supports the following fibre-optic technologies:

  • 10 Gbit/s technology XGS-PON to ITU standard G.9807.1
  • 1 Gbit/s technology point-to-point to IEEE standard 802.3-2008, clause 58, 59

Please note: Only routers and modules certified by Swisscom can be connected to the new 10 Gbit/s technology (XGS-PON). At the present time, Internet-Box 3 is the only router compatible with the supplied module.

Swisscom blue TV

To allow the Swisscom blue TV service to work with an external router, the Enable IGMP Multicast Proxy must be activated. This also applies to the network switches for all other manufacturers. Wherever possible IGMP Snooping should also be enabled.

Telephony

To use the Swisscom telephony service with an external router, you can request the SIP access data on My Swisscom, which can be entered in the router configuration menu.
