The technology behind Noise Cancelling
The technology with two noise sensors and two microphones on each ear cup detects ambient noise and sends the data to the QN1 HD noise reduction processor. Using a new algorithm, the QN1 then processes and minimises noise for different acoustic environments in real time. Together with a new Bluetooth Audio SoC (System-on-Chip), it detects music and noise signals and acoustic characteristics between the driver unit and ears more than 700 times per second.

Optimization of noise minimization
The WH-1000XM4 headphones use two technologies to maximize performance while minimizing noise. The unique air pressure optimization ensures optimal sound at high altitudes, while the personalized noise cancelling feature analyzes specific sound affecting characteristics such as head size, glasses and hair, and then adjusts the sound specifically for you.

Wireless happy - premium sound
LDAC transmits approximately three times the amount of data (at a maximum transfer rate of 990 Kbps) as conventional BLUETOOTH® audio, so you can enjoy high-resolution audio content with nearly the same quality as wired connections.

The QN1 HD Noise Reduction Processor incorporates an analogue amplifier that delivers an unsurpassed signal-to-noise ratio, low distortion and excellent sound quality for portable devices. Recovery of all compressed files in real time
DSEE Extreme™ (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) optimizes compressed music files in real-time using Edge-KI (artificial intelligence) developed with Sony Music Entertainment. Dynamic detection of instrumentation, music style and other characteristics of each track restores high frequencies for richer sound.

Absolutely suitable for everyday use with Speak-to-Chat
Intelligent Speak-to-Chat automatically pauses the music and switches to ambient sound as soon as you speak to someone. So you can talk with headphones on, for example when you don't have your hands free. Precise Voice Pickup technology, five built-in microphones, and advanced audio signal processing recognize and respond to your voice. When you've finished talking, the music continues automatically.
