Heinz Herren to leave Swisscom at the end of the year
Alongside his external directorships, Heinz Herren currently sits on a number of internal Swisscom boards. These include his chairmanship of cablex AG and board membership of Fastweb SpA, Swisscom Broadcast AG, Belgacom International Carrier Services SA (BICS) and tiko Energy Solutions AG (tiko). By the end of this year, Heinz Herren will have relinquished these positions and will no longer represent Swisscom on associations and other organisations, instead focusing on roles outside Swisscom. Details about the handover of his Swisscom activities will be finalised in the months ahead.
In almost 20 years at the company, Heinz Herren has played a significant role in shaping Swisscom’s success. A graduate electrical engineer, he started out as the Head of Wholesale Marketing at the then Swisscom Fixnet AG in 2001 and has held a number of high-profile internal management positions. Heinz Herren was responsible for the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises division, initially at Swisscom Fixnet, before his remit was extended to cover the entire Group. In 2011, Heinz Herren took charge of IT, Network and Infrastructure at Swisscom (Switzerland) AG and was a member of the Group Executive Board until February 2019.
