After 17 years at Swisscom, including more than ten as a member of the Group Executive Board, Heinz Herren has decided to step down as Head of the IT, Network & Infrastructure Group division with effect from 1 February 2019 and focus on strategic projects and tasks on behalf of CEO Urs Schaeppi. He will also take up additional Board of Directors mandates on top of his existing ones. The current CEO of ERNI, Christoph Aeschlimann, will succeed Heinz Herren as a member of the Group Executive Board, Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with effect from
. 1 February 2019.
Christoph Aeschlimann is currently the CEO of international software engineering company ERNI, which is active in consulting, training, engineering and solutions. ERNI specialises in consulting and engineering services for digitisation issues, and provides customers with support in the digital world. CEO Urs Schaeppi: “Christoph Aeschlimann has not only extensive digitisation expertise and broad-based technical knowledge, but also a very comprehensive understanding of customer needs and the ability to anticipate market developments.”
Christoph Aeschlimann lives in Geneva. He is married and has two children. He holds a degree in computer science from the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne and an MBA from McGill University, Canada.
Heinz Herren joined Swisscom in 2001 as Head of Marketing Wholesale at the former Fixnet Ltd. He went on to head up the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises division, initially at Swisscom Fixnet and later for the Swisscom Group. In 2011 Heinz Herren was appointed Head of Network and IT at Swisscom (Switzerland) Ltd. Since January 2014 he has been Head of IT, Network & Innovation.
