But waiting days for a defective smartphone to be repaired is unpleasant for many customers despite the free replacement phone. Swisscom helps its customer quickly and easily in the nine Repair Centres: The mobile is working again within 24 hours – and on request in a maximum of 3 hours thanks to a fee-based express repair.
Swisscom currently repairs over 16,000 smartphones a month - already over 1000 of these in the first three Repair Centres, where the concept was tested. Every fifth mobile bought at Swisscom will be repaired at least once. If the mobile is sent in, the repair takes on average nine days. “Our in-shop Repair Center is right here. Come in, leave it for repair and pick it up again a few hours later,” explains Helia Burgunder, Head Shop & Retail Channels. "Our customers value the fast, easy and competent service. Thanks to the certified specialists the manufacturer’s warranty also remains valid." Display repairs as well as battery and software problems are the most frequently resolved issues. Customers valued the service during the test phase: customer satisfaction in repairs rose sharply in the redesigned shops.
By expanding the offer, Swisscom is reacting to a growing customer need. The number of search queries for “mobile phone repair” on Google makes it clear that the interest in such services has grown steadily in recent years. Swisscom is currently the only Swiss mobile network operator offering such a service.
