IT security is a critical success factor for companies. As IT infrastructures become more complex, IT security becomes more challenging, especially since attackers are increasingly better organised and possess substantial technical resources. Not all companies want or are able to develop and maintain their own security expertise capability. IT security must often also meet regulatory and industry-specific standards, with the keyword here being compliance.
Swisscom takes charge of IT security for corporate customers with its Managed Security Services MSS-i. The Security Operations Center in Switzerland, which is staffed by specialists seven days a week, 24 hours a day, protects customer systems in real time. All customers also benefit from Swisscom's shared threat intelligence, which is optimised to meet Swiss requirements. An attack on a customer system produces new knowledge, which helps protect other customers against similar attacks. Adrian Humbel, Head of Security Solutions at Swisscom, says: “We have observed a marked increase in the professional nature of cybercrime attacks. The Managed Security Services of MSS-i are extremely effective at protecting customers and their cloud and data centre environments against sophisticated and new kinds of threats.”
The German Experton Group analysed all the security services provided by Swisscom as well as those of over 100 other Swiss providers in its “Security Vendor Benchmark 2015” study. They placed Swisscom in the best possible leader quadrant in all categories evaluated and named Swisscom “Security Leader 2015”.
The authors of the Experton study note in particular that “Swisscom is setting the benchmark in the Swiss market for managed security services both in terms of portfolio attractiveness and competitive position.” The extensiveness of Swisscom's range of services is also impressive: “The portfolio covers the full spectrum of services, which are accompanied by a seamless range of solutions for ensuring availability and confidentiality,” observed the Experton analysts.
