Mission and procedure

When I received the enquiry for a complete website for the startup Custodigit, I naturally wanted to know what kind of product this company makes. I came across terms like "Crypto Vault" and "Digital Asset Custody Platform" and didn't understand a thing. After all, trading cryptocurrencies had not been part of my repertoire until then. It was only after some research that I realised what they actually meant. A crypto vault is an encrypted digital safe in which you can securely store assets such as cryptocurrencies or documents. Custodigit offers crypto vaults for such digital assets. The products are aimed at financial and banking institutions. The startup, which emerged from Swisscom, was ready for launch but still needed an overall presence, which the Swisscom Apps team was commissioned to create.

I looked at similar, existing products and now knew roughly the direction of the design. And yet the whole thing still seemed very abstract. There were no hardware or software excerpts that I could have used as a reference for an authentic, visual appearance.

Realisation

After analysing the values of Custodigit and brainstorming in the group for a logo, the first implementations were created. The client opted for a version that had a very technical feel to it and, after a restyling and minor adjustments, finally became the final version.

The landing page(opens in new tab), the business card and the Power Point template were now all to be based on this logo and form a single unit. Close coordination, open communication and fast response times were required. Custodigit quickly liked the concept. This enabled us to meet the tight deadline. This was very important, as the company would be presenting itself at the upcoming Fintech Festival in Singapore. The website was already under development, the business card was ready for printing, the logo was finished, but now a Power Point template was needed.

That was probably the biggest challenge during the entire project. I found the creation process complicated because there was a hierarchy of levels that affected other sub-levels when changes were made, but sometimes not. In concrete terms, this meant that if I changed a title on a slide template, this also changed all the others, but sometimes only some or none at all. There were networks in the background that I couldn't quite understand. But in the end, the customer was also very satisfied and Custodigit's order was drawing to a close. Just in time for a successful start at the Singapore Fintech Festival.

My conclusion: cryptocurrencies are probably easier to understand than creating a Power Point template.
