Exchange with learners - what is it anyway?

The exchange for apprentices gives pupils the opportunity to get to know Swisscom's training system and the various apprenticeships better. As a start, all professions are presented with a PowerPoint presentation and the students have the opportunity to ask their questions after each profession. This is followed by input on the training model, the apprenticeship programme and the benefits of an apprenticeship at Swisscom. At the end, there will be an open question and answer session, where all your uncertainties or questions about Swisscom, the apprenticeship or personal experiences can be asked by the apprentices. You can take part alone or together with your parents via Teams.

My experience as a student on an exchange programme for learners

Which company and which apprenticeship is right for me? A question that every student asks themselves from year 8 onwards. These questions were also buzzing around in my head at the time. To find out the answers, I registered for various information events. Among them was the Swisscom event "Exchange with apprentices". Now the time had come, the exchange was imminent and I sat down at the computer, still a little shy. However, the apprentices quickly gained my trust and my nervousness disappeared. I listened intently and eagerly asked all the questions that were burning under my fingernails. My doubts were answered in detail and the trainees were able to give me a few tips for the application process. After this event, it was clear to me that I wanted to benefit from the unique training model and the advantages of an apprenticeship at Swisscom. A short time later, I started working on my application and with the help of the information and tips I had received from the apprentices, I was soon able to send off a good application. I also benefited from the knowledge and tips I had learnt during my subsequent job interview.

My experience as an apprentice

Now that I've started my apprenticeship, I'm sitting at the other end of the laptop. I am now able to pass on my knowledge to pupils and support them in their career choices. This was a special experience for me, as I know exactly what it's like to be intensively involved in choosing an apprenticeship. The dialogue was a little quiet at first, but within a short time we were able to gain the trust of the participants and they blossomed. The many questions led to a lively and exciting dialogue. My personal highlight was that I was able to share my experiences with the students and give them important tips to take home with them. I am sure that the students were able to benefit from this and I am curious to see if I will meet some faces at Swisscom again soon.
