Swisscom launches package with Netflix & Disney+ and introduces streaming mode for blue TV

With its new blue Binge product, Swisscom combines Switzerland’s two favourite streaming services into an extremely affordable package for its customers. Streaming fans can also get a revamped blue TV interface, which combines several streaming services and Replay TV.

From 28 October, blue Binge will offer top-quality entertainment at the lowest possible price. That’s because it includes a combined Netflix Basic and Disney+ subscription (Standard option) for just CHF 19.90 per month, making it around 28% cheaper than paying for the Netflix and Disney+ packages separately. The minimum subscription period for blue Binge is one year, but it can be upgraded at any time – including on just a monthly basis – to higher-value price plans from either provider. In this case, customers will pay the difference between the included price plan and the higher-value price plan as an additional charge.

“A year ago, we made an impression on the global stage by combining three major streaming providers in one package for the first time with blue SuperMax. We are therefore continuing this success story with Swiss customers’ two most popular providers,” says a delighted Dirk Wierzbitzki, Head of Residential Customers and member of the Group Executive Board.

Anyone purchasing the blue TV XXL subscription, also available from 28 October, can enjoy a number of benefits. This comprehensive package includes the full range of blue TV with 2,000 hours of recording, 7-day Replay, over 330 TV channels, the ad-free streaming service blue Play, the blue Premium entertainment package with 40 premium channels and the Sky Show streaming service, as well as the new blue Binge product – all at a price of 49.90 for the first six months and CHF 69.80 per month thereafter.

Replay TV and streaming services bundled into a single interface

For customers who mainly use streaming services and traditional television, particularly on catch-up, blue TV also offers a new interface that meets all their needs. The first thing customers see at the top of the screen is an overview of the content of the streaming services. Users can launch programmes with a simple tap or touch of a button. A compact overview in the personalised start menu means customers can also keep an eye on their favourite streaming providers’ highlights at all times.

“Ten years ago, we were one of the first providers in the world to start merging TV and streaming,” explains Dirk Wierzbitzki. “The great strength of blue TV is that it offers each customer the programme that suits them best. No matter how our customers’ tastes and needs change, blue TV is ready and will adapt automatically.”
