“The people of Switzerland enjoy travelling a lot. During these coronavirus times, this has been more in Switzerland than abroad. But we are delighted to support our six million customers with this too. The partnership with ERV, the travel insurance specialist of the Helvetia Group, has connected us for over 20 years, so we are very pleased to have ERV* on board to launch this attractive offer,” says Dirk Wierzbitzki, Head of Residential Customers at Swisscom.
Swisscom has also launched its “Easy Travel Insurance Year” product for individuals and families. The payment method for this is new and unusual as “Easy Travel Insurance Year” is billed monthly. After expiry of the minimum 12-month contract period, the contract can be terminated at any time under observance of a notice period of 60 days to the end of the month.
Cybercrime is on the rise worldwide. In addition to governments and companies, residential customers are increasingly targeted by fraudsters: Swisscom’s security experts fend off over 3,000 attempts to attack its infrastructure every hour. Internet Guard, which is free for all customers, provides 8 million warnings against access to infected websites or links sent in fake mails each year. Increasingly sophisticated and difficult to detect, some fake e-mails or websites are hard to distinguish from the originals. “Easy Cyber Insurance” provides legal protection in cases of copyright infringement, identity theft, credit card misuse, online bullying and fraudulent suppliers when shopping online. It also helps with data recovery and virus removal, up to the replacement of hardware. The product has been tailor-made for Swisscom customers in partnership with AXA-ARAG. “Customer security is very important to us. The new offering fits almost seamlessly into our existing security portfolio and allows customers to enjoy surfing the net with no concerns. It is an ideal complement to Swisscom’s core products,” says Dirk Wierzbitzki, Head of Residential Customers at Swisscom. The insurance also scores highly with additional, customer-friendly conditions such as monthly billing. The contract can be terminated at any time after the minimum 12-month contract period under observance of a notice period of 60 days to the end of the month. The insurance product applies to the household insured by the customer, regardless of whether this is a family home, a couple living together or a shared flat.
Both new products are now available exclusively in the Swisscom Shops and via the free hotline on 0800 800 800. From October, Swisscom customers will also be able to purchase the insurance online at www.swisscom.ch/easyinsurance.**
