New features of the Vivo packages: surf the Web even faster and accept calls directly on your mobile – at no extra cos

From Monday, 9 March, the Vivo bundled packages will include even more features for making calls, surfing the Web and watching TV at home. Swisscom is significantly increasing the Internet browsing speed for all customers – without raising the price. This means that Vivo XL customers with a fibre-optic connection can enjoy speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second. The telephony offering also has a new feature – Vivo customers can now answer calls made to their fixed-network number directly on their mobile phone, regardless of their location. What’s more, as of May, customers will be able to browse the Internet free of charge at over 2,100 Swisscom WLAN hotspots using their smartphone, tablet or laptop.

“Only recently we massively increased the value that the Natel infinity subscriptions offer our customers without raising subscription prices. Now it’s the turn of our fixed-network customers. We are again not increasing prices, but are increasing the performance of our Vivo bundled packages,” says Marc Werner, Head of Residential Customer Business at Swisscom.

1 Gbps fibre-optic connection from CHF 139 per month

From Monday, 9 March, many Vivo customers will be able to surf the Internet at twice the speed as before. Customers that subscribe to a Vivo XL package will experience a particularly significant change – they will now be able to surf the Web at a speed of 1 Gbps on a fibre-optic connection. Those customers that took out a Gigabit option for CHF 80 per month will in future not have to pay these costs at all. This is because Swisscom is offering the super-fast 1 Gbps Internet connection from CHF 139 per month (in German). Those customers who already have a Natel infinity subscription will save even more – for example, customers with a Natel infinity M subscription (CHF 99 per month.) will save CHF 20 every month .

Swisscom TV 2.0 has successfully established itself on the market for almost a year now and already has more than 400,000 customers. Swisscom TV 2.0 plus customers can also enjoy an additional benefit, as they will also be able to record 200 extra hours of programmes, which makes a total of 1,200 hours. “After this increase, our customers can record more than six times as much content as they could with the best service offered by the major cable providers,” comments Marc Werner.

Make calls and surf the Web on the move with Vivo packages

The Vivo packages offer more, and not only at home; from next Monday, the new “Fixed network to go” function will allow for an extra level of convenience when on the move. This function ensures that you will never miss a call to your fixed-network number again, as all calls to this number can, upon request, be answered via your mobile phone, regardless of your location.

In addition, Vivo customers will be able to use more than 2,100 WLAN hotspots throughout Switzerland from May onwards to access the Internet wirelessly, free of charge and for an unlimited period of time. Simply activate WLAN and log into the “Swisscom” network using your Swisscom login details. Up to three devices such as tablets, smartphones and laptops can be used at the same time free of charge while on the go.
