“The only time that matters is the present – the here and now.”

When I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, I was shocked. I had no words, but I stayed calm. My goal was immediately clear: I had to come back, reorganise my life and find a balance between my illness and my job.

Swisscom gave me the chance to be part of an exciting team, but still work part time. I have learned to take on challenges with a sporting spirit and an open nature. The work motivates me, it gives me structure and I know my colleagues value my contribution. Never underestimate the importance of being in demand!

These days, I live very consciously; I get my energy from swimming, relaxing in nature and spending time with family and friends. I have oncology treatment every three weeks in the Wellness Temple, as I call it. I find this kind of positive thinking and imagery helpful. My surroundings ground me and enable me to pursue my career despite my serious illness – as a person who is much more than their diagnosis.
