The cybersecurity situation is challenging – and I’m here to ensure that new talent can start their careers at Swisscom in this exciting field.
People usually only mention cybersecurity when something goes wrong. We are the invisible shield providing round-the-clock protection. The challenges are never ending. Experienced cybersecurity experts are rare to the market, which means that we train our talent ourselves, often during degree or apprenticeship programmes. They get stuck in quickly and have the support of experienced mentors.
I am a computer scientist and also have a teaching qualification. My role now involves nurturing the next generation of cybersecurity experts and ensuring their long-term retention. I enjoy enabling new talent to launch their careers and to witness how grateful they are for the opportunity. It might sound a bit corny, but it’s true. And when the working day is over?
