Biggest shock after joining Swisscom SDC Rotterdam?

Vibe of a start up, everything builds from scratch ... very interesting to see the positive chaos. Here you have feeling that you are part and had some impact in building this cool community!

Coolest thing about working in Swisscom?

The people, definitely!

At Swisscom, we've got a vibrant crew of young, brave, and proactive superheroes who left their comfort-zone and bring the best in, taking risks and never giving up. The cultural exchange between us is like a non-stop global festival.

How it is different compared to your previous employers?

Swisscom is a breath of fresh air compared to my conservative banking experiences. Here, we're not just cogs in a machine! We have a voice, work with cutting-edge tech, and actively shape the strategy; we are not just being told but constantly being part of the solution designs and our voices are heard.

Biggest benefit of the exciting cultural mashups?

Colleagues from other countries give me perspectives that there is not only one solution to solve an issue, there is more then one perspective for every issues. Very open-minded environment.

In what way you grow or developed since joining Swisscom?

Swisscom has been a personal growth rocket boost for me as a software engineer. I've hopped across teams, projects, and setups without breaking a sweat. Now I'm confident I can tackle anything and everything that comes my way.

Favorite work ritual?

I would say the cultural lunch. Every few months, we have cultural lunches where our international colleagues bring their most famous local dishes. It's like a world food party where you get to savour deliciousness while learning about different cultures.

Favorite hobby/ies or talent/s?

I have a passion for exploring famous cultural landmarks while traveling. It's an thriling experience to witness them firsthand and indulge in the authentic local cuisine. On top of that, I often combine my love for travel and cultural discovery with marathon running, adding an extra level of excitement and challenge to my adventures.

As a big fan of street art and art museums, I find the combination of travel and art to be incredibly fulfilling. Each unique piece has the power to make a lasting impact on the world. Street art, though short-lived, holds a special allure with its fleeting fame. In a world dominated by globalization and mass production, it's important to cherish and seek out the uniqueness that still exists.

What does marathon run and your devops job has in common?

They both taught me valuable life lessons about the power of consistency and taking one step at a time. I've learned to keep pushing forward, even when faced with pain or challenging situations. No pain, no gain – whether it's running or coding!

Life philosophy or personal mantra?

My motto in life is all about pushing outside of my comfort zone. Life gets interesting and exciting when we challenge ourselves and venture into the unknown. When you are older it is more difficult, so I'm scared about this: stopping and not doing anything nice & new.

So here I'm here, breaking barriers, embracing new experiences, and making sure I never stop growing!
