Swisscom Digital Lab: Innovation and inspiration

The Lab, located in the heart of the EPFL Innovation Park in Lausanne, was founded by Swisscom in 2016 to promote digital innovation and inspire people in the networked world. It draws strategic benefits from the university environment and combines the expertise of EPFL researchers and Swisscom experts. Since its launch, the Digital Lab has gained 2500 followers on Meetup.com and has organised more than 70 events. Our most important topics: Data, analytics and artificial intelligence.

In collaboration with Swisscom's product teams, the Digital Lab also offers topics in the field of applied research for EPFL Master's students, enabling them to write their thesis in a corporate environment. Students can conduct cutting-edge research in disruptive areas. For its part, Swisscom benefits from first-class students and co-supervision by renowned research laboratories at EPFL.

What are our activities in the Digital Lab?

  • Research & development: creation of new products, improvement of existing products, research into new technologies
  • Support for Swisscom projects: Utilisation of our research in favour of internal projects
  • Inspiration: Providing innovative concepts for internal business and opening up new perspectives to inspire people
  • Building a dynamic digital community: sharing our research results and experiences; receiving feedback
