The new, innovative successor solution for SAP IS-H

Following SAP’s announcement to discontinue the further development of its industry solution IS-H, existing SAP customers urgently need an alternative for patient administration and billing. Get to know the successor solution now.

SAP IS-H seeks a successor solution

SAP will only provide continued support for the current industry solution IS-H (Industry Solution Health) in patient administration with patient management and billing functionalities until the end of 2030. A successor solution based on S/4HANA will no longer be developed by SAP itself. SAP is thus leaving this market to third-party providers.

GS-H – the new IS-H alternative

A consortium of four companies with industry experience is developing GS-H, the new ERP solution based on SAP S/4HANA. This will enable hospitals to protect the investments they have made in the SAP solution and give them planning security.

The IS-H alternative will cover all functions of IS-H. It takes into account Switzerland’s country-specific characteristics and reliably complies with legal framework conditions. Connections to existing platforms (e.g. hospital information systems) are particularly important in this, so that innovations will be possible and easy to implement in the future. It will therefore enable machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to be used and will establish the connection to third-party software with efficient, secure interfaces. Moreover, GS-H is intended to set new standards in the Swiss healthcare sector with its highly user-friendly and innovative operation.

GS-H milestones

Some important milestones regarding the SAP IS-H successor solution have already been reached. Stay up to date with the next steps in GS-H on this page.

SAP announced in October 2022 that it will discontinue maintenance for its SAP IS-H solution at the end of 2030 and will cease development of both patient management and patient billing.

A consortium of four partner companies plans to develop an innovative successor solution for IS-H and offer hospitals a valid replacement for patient management and patient billing.

In November 2023, the successor solution, called GS-H, is presented to the general public for the first time at the SAP Public Service Forum 2023 in Bern.

Towards the end of 2024, GS-H will be installed with a first pilot customer.
