Many CreditGate24 customers carry out their financial transactions in the evenings or at weekends. They expect to be able to access credit quickly. Previously they had to identify themselves at a post office or SBB counter and send in a certified copy of their identity document in order to obtain credit.
“It was time-consuming and inconvenient,” says Patrick Winterhoff, Chief of Staff & Projects at CreditGate24. “The counter staff only verify the person’s identity with a stamp and a signature. They do not provide important information about which and how security elements have been checked, or whether any possible uncertainties cropped up. This can only be done quickly with proper, secure online processes.”
Now customers can identify themselves from anywhere at any time of day, so they can obtain credit much faster and conveniently. The identification process, which complies with the requirements of the FINMA and the Swiss Money Laundering Act (GwG), is based on Swisscom’s Online Identification solution. Customers are guided through the secure process step by step. All aspects and inspection criteria are analysed by the application using sophisticated AI. If necessary, the system flags up whether the person needs further checks.
The final identification is always validated by an employee. “It enables us to minimise our risks and, as a new company, to benefit from Swisscom’s experience. And for our customers, it’s more convenient than before,” explains Patrick Winterhoff.
