House of Switzerland Paris
By Elena Grünig

This summer, all eyes were on Paris as the Olympic and Paralympic Games dominated the city. In the midst of the hustle and bustle, a small, yet significant piece of Switzerland shone out: the House of Switzerland. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), managed by Presence Switzerland, became a meeting place for sports enthusiasts and a place to experience the diversity of Switzerland. Swisscom Broadcast played a valuable role in ensuring that visitors had an unforgettable experience by building a network infrastructure and stable Internet supply.

The House of Switzerland served as a meeting place for people to watch the games and celebrate the successes of the Swiss athletes at the medal ceremonies. In the garden of the Swiss Embassy in Paris, visitors also had the opportunity to discover more about Switzerland through a creative catering concept, tourism presentations, activities for all ages, exhibitions and a rich cultural programme.

All these interactive activities and presentations require optimum connectivity. The event ICT team provided the House of Switzerland with Internet on site and set up a temporary network infrastructure.

«The collaboration with Swisscom Broadcast is very important for the House of Switzerland and greatly valued by us.»

Alexandre Edelmann, Head of Presence Switzerland

Technology that inspires

Technology was essential to ensuring that everything ran smoothly. Swisscom Broadcast therefore equipped the House of Switzerland with state-of-the-art infrastructure. The event ICT team installed 15 access points, almost 300 switch ports, 5 switches and two firewalls on site to ensure a stable and secure connection.
