SwissRadioDay 2020

For 21 years, SwissRadioDay has been the most important event in the Swiss radio industry, organized by SRG and Swiss private radio stations. Last year, around 400 participants met for a one-day event. This year, for the first time, SwissRadioDay took place online in a corona-proof format and lasted a compact 70 minutes.

"The radio industry is meeting virtually this year, with many contributions from decision-makers and radio producers. I'm thrilled with the digital implementation, live from the Teleclub studio. Thank you, Swisscom Broadcast!"

Jürg Bachmann, Verband Schweizer Privatradios (VSP), Co-Director SwissRadioDay

SwissRadioDay digital this year

The compact format in which the SwissRadioDay took place on August 27, 2020, meets exactly the needs of the online audience. Participants discovered pre-produced contributions in a virtual conference, moderated live from the Teleclub TV studio in Volketswil. Topics and people that move the radio industry thus also got their place and attention in this special year.

Focus on radio at Swisscom Broadcast

Terrestrial distribution of radio signals is part of Swisscom Broadcast's core business. We build customized broadcasting networks and ensure that radio content reaches listeners reliably.

We take the signals from the SRG and private radio broadcasters from the studio and feed them to our transmitter sites. From there, we broadcast them throughout Switzerland - on FM and DAB+. With our many years of experience in network planning as well as in the construction and operation of radio networks, we are committed to the further development of digital radio in Switzerland. As Presenting Partner of SwissRadioDay, we support the most important event of the Swiss radio scene and were also jointly responsible for the digital implementation in 2020.

"Swisscom Broadcast brings digital radio to the whole of Switzerland, thanks to the nationwide DAB+ network that we plan, build, operate and further develop on behalf of our customers. We want to understand what moves the radio industry and accompany our customers into the digital future."

Emanuel Jungo, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer - Swisscom Broadcast AG

Guest in the Champions League Studio

The digital SwissRadioDay was broadcast live from TV Studio 1 at Teleclub in Volketswil. Normally, football experts such as Marcel Reif or Rolf Fringer sit here and discuss match-deciding scenes from UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League matches, among others.

"For this project, we customized camera work, studio set-up and backgrounds to fit the needs."

Severin Müri, Technischer Produzent - Teleclub
