Swiss retail banks now preparing for the digital future
Although Swiss banks are aware of the relevance of innovative digital services in retail banking, they have been slow to implement them. This is the conclusion of a Swisscom survey conducted among 22 Swiss cantonal, retail and major banks as well as foreign banks. The bottom line of the study is this: Purely strategic considerations must be quickly followed by concrete actions. Otherwise, the technological future will be left to the new, up-and-coming competition.
Yesterday, Swisscom presented the Swisscom Business Award to the most pioneering ICT project in Switzerland. The award went to MSC Cruises for its managed
contact centre solution (MCCS). «MSC is impressive testimony to how technology and innovation can be used to intensify customer relationships,» said chairman of the judging panel Thomas Wirth. The
first-ever People's Choice Award went to Fondazione Ticino Cuore.
Swisscom data centre receives the highest globally recognised quality award
Swisscom’s data centre in Bern-Wankdorf has been awarded Tier IV Design Certification by the Uptime Institute. This is the first data centre in Switzerland
to receive this coveted award and thus meets the highest global standard, with fully redundant subsystems, compartmentalised security zones and biometric access controls.
For the fourth year in a row, SAP (Switzerland) AG presented the SAP Quality Award to Swisscom customers. Oetiker Group and Geistlich Pharma AG were honoured
with the Gold and Silver rankings, respectively.
